Dear Family, Friends and Colleagues:
We are joining CARE’s Walk In Her Shoes fundraising campaign March 3, 2018 – in solidarity with the journey taken each day by women and girls around the world.
In the world’s poorest communities, women and girls bear the brunt of poverty and are denied fundamental human rights like education, health care, and freedom - even though they are the key to a better future for their families and communities. Around the world, women work two-thirds of all working hours, earning only 10% of the world's income. Often, they must walk up to four miles (10,000 steps) for basic needs like food and clean water for their families. This daily trek can prevent girls from attending school, developing a career, and acquiring financial independence -- please, watch the 30 second video at the bottom of this page.
Through Walk In Her Shoes, we are raising money to support CARE’s community-based efforts to improve education, health and economic opportunity for girls and women, which in turn helps their entire families emerge from poverty.
Please join us in supporting CARE’s work around the globe to save lives, defeat poverty and achieve social justice. All donations are tax-deductible for U.S. taxpayers. And more than 90% of expenses support poverty-fighting projects around the world. Please contribute whatever you can and share this page with others so they too can have an opportunity to make a difference.
Walk in Her Shoes is your opportunity - our opportunity to show unity and work together to promote gender equality and empower women.
